Workchops: Pushing Design Practice

Andrea Siodmok, from Policy Lab in the UK, facilitated the policy design stream of Workchops.

Liz Sanders, coming over from Ohio State University, facilitated all sessions on co-design.

Intimate groups of around 15 in each stream worked together to push their own design practice, facilitated by Liz and Andrea.

Our team of Charlotte Upton (left), Chris Jackson, myself, and Siobhan McCarthy worked together in the months leading up to the event to engage participants fully and transparently in the process, design all elements including the experience at the event, the tangible objects (lanyards, wayfinding, tshirts, graphics), and special experiences for the international facilitators, such as boxes for the facilitators to introduce them to the context of New Zealand, Wellington, and how we do things here.

Workchops: Pushing Design Practice

Workchops has been created by Chris Jackson to push design practice in New Zealand (and beyond). The inaugural three day Workchops event ran in March 2017, with a focus on co-design and policy design.

Andrea Siodmok, from Policy Lab in the UK, facilitated the policy design stream of Workchops.
